The MLS is an acronym for Multiple Listing Service. The MLS is simply a database that real estate professionals use to both list properties for sale and search these listings for buyers they represent. The MLS is not available to the general public directly. The MLS is critical for selling a property as it provides exposure to all real estate agents in a particular market area.
